UditVani, Jamshedpur : Tata Steel’s Learning & Development Department has invited applications for the Operative Trainee (OT) Bridge Course for permanent blue-collar employees of Tata Steel Limited working across manufacturing locations.
The course will be conducted under the Learning & Development initiative and aims to upgrade employee qualifications in Metallurgy.
Key details of the programme:
Discipline: Metallurgy (25 seats)
* Course Duration: 44 weeks
* Part A: 20 weeks (E-Learning)
* Part B: 24 weeks (Online/Offline classes and practical sessions, including original and repeat modes on alternate weeks)
Course Type & Timing:
* Non-residential certificate course
* Classes to be held at nearby training centres or online
* Classes scheduled from Monday to Saturday, 6:15 pm to 9:00 pm
* Sessions will be conducted on both original and repeat weekly basis
Minimum Qualification & Experience:
* Graduation completed
Mandatory graduation subjects: Physics & Chemistry / Physics & Mathematics / Chemistry & Mathematics / Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
* Minimum 5 years of experience as on December 1, 2025
* At least 2 years’ work experience in manufacturing departments, R&D, Scientific Services, or Technology Group in the last 5 years
Age Limit:
* Maximum 45 years as on December 1, 2025
* Important Conditions:
* E-learning modules of Part A must be completed within the stipulated time
* Minimum 75% attendance required in Part B
* Pass marks: 60% in both theory and practical
* Only one supplementary exam allowed for each part
* All communication will be done via registered email ID
Benefits to Employees:
* Course qualification will be treated as equivalent to a Diploma in Metallurgy for internal opportunities
* Eligibility for positions where Diploma in Metallurgy is the minimum qualification (subject to other criteria)
* Certificate will be awarded on successful completion
* No financial benefit will be provided for completing the course
Selection Criteria:
Selection will be based on performance in a written test
