UditVani, Jamshedpur: Police in the Sonari area of Jamshedpur on Wednesday detained an externed woman criminal known as ‘Chatni Don’, whose real name is Priya Singh, following a domestic dispute that turned violent. Her husband, Pawan Yadav, was also taken into custody in connection with the incident.
According to police sources, the altercation took place at their residence in the Sonari locality, where an argument between the couple reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation.
After receiving information about the incident, a police team immediately reached the spot and brought both individuals to the police station.
Police officials said Priya Singh has a criminal history and had earlier been declared tadipar (externed from the area) due to her alleged involvement in various criminal activities in the region.
Both Priya Singh and Pawan Yadav are currently being questioned separately to determine the exact circumstances that led to the incident.
Police are also speaking with neighbours and local residents to gather additional information.
Officials at Sonari police station said that further legal action will be decided after the preliminary investigation and questioning are completed.
For now, both remain in police custody as the case is being examined in detail.
