UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar graced the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) in Jamshedpur on Saturday, extending his warm wishes to the organisation for completing 75 years of distinguished service.
In his address, the Governor described the Chamber as more than just an institution—calling it the soul of Jharkhand’s industrial history that has guided the state’s growth and transformed its economic landscape for decades. He paid tribute to the vision, dedication and commitment of its founding members.

Commending Jamshedpur as a model of integrated industrial and social development, he lauded the Tata Group’s farsightedness which, he said, has helped the city excel not just in industry but also in education, healthcare, environmental stewardship and skill development. He also congratulated citizens on the city’s achievement of securing third place in the national cleanliness rankings.

Highlighting India’s robust economic growth, the Governor pointed out that the nation has become the world’s fourth-largest economy and, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is progressing towards the $5 trillion economy goal.
He underscored the relevance of initiatives such as Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India and Vocal for Local, and urged Jharkhand’s trade and industry bodies to play a proactive role in these efforts.
“Jharkhand is blessed with natural resources, a capable workforce and an energetic youth population. With the right blend of industry, policy and skill development, the state can emerge as a backbone of the Indian economy,” he noted.
He also called upon the Chamber to actively engage in social development, women’s empowerment, education and local employment generation to ensure inclusive growth. Stressing that Jharkhand lags behind in higher education, he said active involvement of the business community is essential to strengthening this sector.
The Chamber members including president Vijay Anand Moonka also interacted with the Governor, sharing their views and vision for the future.
