UditVani, Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy has stepped in to press the state’s top police officials for immediate and effective action in the abduction of young entrepreneur Kairav Gandhi, an incident that has sent shockwaves through the city’s business and social circles.
Taking to social media platform X on Thursday, Roy said he held detailed discussions with Jharkhand Director General of Police Tadasa Mishra and Jamshedpur Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey.
He stressed that the case goes far beyond a routine crime and directly involves the safety and life of a young citizen, making it imperative for the police to act with maximum seriousness.
In a separate video message, Roy described the kidnapping from a crowded area as a deeply troubling sign of criminal audacity.
He warned that organised criminal elements may still be active in and around Jamshedpur, using local networks to execute kidnappings with the sole aim of extracting large ransoms.
Roy further told the DGP and the SSP that the incident has left the city’s residents, particularly traders and entrepreneurs, feeling insecure.
He urged the police to quickly trace the culprits and ensure the safe recovery of the victim.
If there is any delay or failure in cracking the case, Roy cautioned, public anger could spill onto the streets, forcing people to demand accountability from the government.
The high-profile abduction has intensified concerns over law and order in Jamshedpur, putting the spotlight on the state’s ability to protect its citizens from organised crime.
