UditVani, Jamshedpur: In a groundbreaking initiative, the Divisional Railway Hospital at Chakradharpur, under South Eastern Railway (SER), has achieved a historic milestone by introducing same-day issuance of birth certificates and Aadhaar enrollment for newborns.
The remarkable accomplishment marks the first instance of such an initiative not only in the state of Jharkhand but also across any Railway Hospital under South Eastern Railway.
The pioneering step is set to bring immense relief and convenience to new parents.
Under the new system, both the birth certificate and Aadhaar enrollment of newborns are completed before the baby’s discharge from the hospital.
This eliminates the need for parents to undertake separate procedures or make multiple visits to government offices for essential documentation.
With this system in place, parents will now receive the birth certificate, Aadhaar enrollment acknowledgment, and the newborn’s discharge certificate on the same day, streamlining the documentation process and ensuring immediate access to critical identity records.
The initiative has been made possible through the collaborative efforts of Chakradharpur Division, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), and the Office of the District Collector, West Singhbhum, Jharkhand.
The successful integration of these systems demonstrates the potential of coordinated digital governance in enhancing citizen services and improving efficiency in public administration.
Officials from the Chakradharpur Division lauded the teamwork that enabled this achievement and highlighted that this initiative aligns with the Government of India’s vision of promoting “Ease of Living” and Digital India.
The integration of Aadhaar registration at birth not only helps establish a verified identity from the very beginning of a child’s life but also ensures smoother access to government welfare schemes in the future.
The Chakradharpur Divisional Railway Hospital’s achievement stands as a model of efficient inter-departmental coordination and citizen-centric innovation, setting a new benchmark for healthcare-linked administrative services across the Indian Railways network and the Jharkhand state.
