
UditVani, Jamshedpur : The Union railway ministry has announced a revised class-wise fare structure effective from July 1, 2025, for select trains including Amrit Bharat, Mahamana, Gatimaan, Antyodaya, Jan Shatabdi, Yuva Express, and services with AC Vistadome and Anubhuti coaches, along with ordinary non-suburban services.
Key Points:
* No hike in ancillary charges such as reservation fees, superfast surcharge, or other service charges.
* GST will be levied as per existing norms.
* Fare rounding rules remain unchanged.
Fare Revision Details:
1. Ordinary Non-AC Classes (Non-Suburban Trains):
Second Class:
The fare has been increased by half paisa per kilometre, with the following slab-based structure:
No fare hike for distances up to 500 km
A Rs. 5 increase for journeys ranging from 501 to 1500 km
A Rs. 10 increase for journeys between 1501 to 2500 km
A Rs. 15 increase for distances between 2501 to 3000 km
Sleeper Class:
Fares have been revised upwards by 0.5 paisa per kilometre
First Class:
A similar increase of 0.5 paisa per kilometre has been applied
2. Mail/Express Trains (Non-AC Classes):
Second Class:
Increased by 1 paisa per kilometre
Sleeper Class:
Hiked by 1 paisa per kilometre
First Class:
Revised upward by 1 paisa per kilometre
3. AC Classes (Mail/Express Trains):
For all air-conditioned classes including AC Chair Car, AC 3-Tier (and 3E), AC 2-Tier, AC First Class, as well as Executive and Anubhuti Classes, fares have been increased by 2 paisa per kilometre.
The revised fares will apply only to tickets booked on or after July 1.
Tickets issued before this date will remain valid at the old rates with no adjustment.
Ticketing systems (PRS, UTS, and manual) are being updated, and Zonal Railways have been directed to revise fare displays at stations for smooth implementation.
