UditVani, Jamshedpur : President of India, Droupadi Murmu, is scheduled to visit Jharkhand on a two-day official tour from July 31 to August 1.
During her visit, she will cover key locations including Deoghar, Ranchi, and Dhanbad.
The visit holds special significance as the President will participate in two major academic events.
She is set to attend the first convocation ceremony of AIIMS Deoghar, marking a historic milestone for the premier medical institute in the Santhal region.
The following day, she will preside over the convocation ceremony of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, one of the country’s leading institutions for mining and engineering education.
In preparation for the high-profile visit, chief secretary Alka Tiwari chaired a detailed review meeting on Tuesday, July 22, for ensuring seamless arrangements across all three cities.
The review emphasized aspects such as security, traffic management, protocol arrangements, and venue readiness.
In Deoghar, where the Shravani Mela is underway and a massive influx of devotees is expected, special attention is being paid to preserve the sanctity and flow of the Kanwaria route.
A dedicated route has been earmarked for the President’s convoy to avoid disruption to religious pilgrims.
Additionally, nodal officers have been appointed in each city to oversee on-ground coordination and real-time monitoring of logistics and security.
The President’s visit is being seen as a moment of pride for Jharkhand, especially as it highlights the state’s emerging role in higher education and healthcare.
Both AIIMS Deoghar and IIT Dhanbad are central to Jharkhand’s development roadmap in the fields of medicine, technology, and research excellence.
This will be President Murmu’s first visit to the state in 2025, and her presence is expected to inspire both academic institutions and the people of Jharkhand.
