UditVani, Jamshedpur : An awareness programme under the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) was organised on December 18, 2025, at the MP Hall of A.D.L.S. Sunshine School to educate students on the harmful effects of tobacco and promote a tobacco-free environment.
Informative posters, charts, and visual presentations highlighted tobacco’s severe health risks, including oral cancer, lung damage, heart diseases, and respiratory problems. Students learned that India has one of the world’s highest oral cancer rates, largely due to widespread smokeless tobacco use.

The session covered Jharkhand’s tobacco control rules, such as restrictions on sales and use near schools, while strongly emphasising Tobacco-Free Educational Institutions.
The programme proved highly impactful, inspiring students to actively oppose tobacco consumption.
