
UditVani, Jamshedpur : The Milanee, one of Jamshedpur’s most respected and long standing socio-cultural institutions, ushered in a new chapter in its legacy as it hosted its 81st General Body Meeting alongside the inauguration of its newly constructed Banquet Hall on Sunday.
The day-long celebration at the Bistupur club premises drew an impressive turnout, reflecting the deep-rooted connection members share with the institution.
Banquet Hall Inauguration Sets the Tone
The festivities began with the formal inauguration of the Banquet Hall, a modern addition designed to enhance the club’s infrastructure and cater to its growing activities.
Jamshedpur West legislator Saryu Roy graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Club president Sekhar Dey welcomed members and guests, highlighting the significance of the new facility in expanding The Milanee’s cultural and community engagements.
Saryu Roy praised the club for its longstanding contribution to the city’s cultural and social landscape.
He expressed hope that The Milanee would continue to grow in strength and uphold its tradition of community service.
Roy added that the institution’s efforts in promoting social welfare and fostering unity among residents would inspire future generations.
Vibrant Evening Ceremony
The evening session was equally spirited, featuring Raghunath Pandey, President of the Jusco Union, as the Chief Guest.
Club president Sekhar Dey remained present for the proceedings.
A special felicitation ceremony honoured distinguished members whose contributions have strengthened the institution over the years.
The atmosphere came alive with an engaging musical performance by Kolkata-based artist Shovan Ganguly, captivating the audience with his artistry.
General Body Meeting: Decisions for the Future
The formal 81st General Body Meeting was convened thereafter, presided over by president Sekhar Dey.
Around 300 members actively participated, reviewing and deliberating on the club’s progress and future plans.
The audited financial statements for the year were tabled and approved unanimously.
Members also endorsed four significant amendments, each aimed at reinforcing the club’s governance, operational efficiency, and long-term vision.
Smooth and Transparent Club Elections
The day concluded with the conducting of club elections, overseen by Election Officer A. Srinivas Rao, ensuring a transparent and orderly process.
