UditVani, Jamshedpur : Taking serious note of potential irregularities in the implementation of the ‘Maiyaan Samman Yojana’, deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Ananya Mittal has ordered a thorough investigation.
The preliminary inquiry revealed that several beneficiaries are linked to the same bank account number— a clear violation of the scheme’s guidelines.
All Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Circle Officers (COs) have been instructed to verify the beneficiary lists in their respective jurisdictions and submit a detailed report to the district office within three working days.
According to initial data, 2912 such cases have been identified where multiple beneficiaries are associated with a single bank account.
These include 10 cases in Chakulia Circle, 81 in Dhalbhumgarh, 97 in Musabani, 99 in Baharagora, 111 in Dumaria, 113 in Patamda, 122 in Gurabandha, 164 in Chakulia Block, 191 in Bodam, 271 in Ghatshila, 300 in Mango Circle, 388 in Golmuri-cum-Jugsalai, 390 in Jamshedpur Circle, and 573 in Potka.
Mittal has made it clear that such irregularities will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Beneficiaries found guilty of availing benefits through fraudulent means will be removed from the list, and the disbursed amount will be recovered.
If any government official is found to be negligent or complicit, strict departmental action will be taken against them.
The ‘Maiyaan Samman Yojana’ aims to empower economically disadvantaged and eligible women. Therefore, the financial assistance should be extended only to those who genuinely qualify.
The district administration urges all beneficiaries and citizens to provide accurate information and report any irregularities to the authorities for necessary action.
