
UditVani, Jamshedpur : District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Karn Satyarthi, carried out a detailed inspection of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) warehouse at Kitadih to ensure foolproof security and maintenance arrangements ahead of the elections.
During the inspection, he reviewed the storage and upkeep of EVMs and VVPATs, round-the-clock CCTV surveillance, and systematic record-keeping. He directed officials to adhere strictly to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the Election Commission, warning that even minor lapses in security would not be tolerated.
Satyarthi further emphasized the importance of uninterrupted CCTV monitoring, timely data backup, and transparent maintenance of daily inspection registers and logbooks.
Unauthorized access, he said, must remain completely prohibited. He also called for regular security audits, structured reporting, and stronger monitoring mechanisms to reinforce transparency and accountability.
Representatives from several political parties were present during the inspection, underscoring the commitment to maintaining impartiality and openness in the electoral process.
