UditVani, Jamshedpur: Eight days after the kidnapping of businessman Kairav Gandhi from the Bistupur CH Area, the police are yet to achieve any major breakthrough in the case.
Despite sustained raids and extensive questioning, no concrete clue regarding Gandhi’s whereabouts has emerged so far.
In the course of the investigation, the police have taken into custody a youth identified as Sonu, a resident of Sonari, and are subjecting him to intensive interrogation.
Simultaneously, police teams are conducting continuous raids across several locations in Bihar-including Hajipur, Jehanabad and Patna-as well as in parts of West Bengal.
According to police sources, Sonu has a past criminal record and is believed to have links with certain criminal elements in Bihar.
Acting on these leads, the police also detained two other youths during a raid in Hajipur and are questioning them on multiple aspects of the case.
However, investigators have so far failed to secure decisive evidence that could clearly establish the full chain of events behind the abduction.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted for the safe recovery of Kairav Gandhi remains actively engaged across state borders.
The police suspect the involvement of an inter-state gang, prompting the investigation to extend beyond Jharkhand.
Mobile location tracking, call detail records, CCTV footage and the movements of suspects are being minutely analysed.
Taking note of the lack of a major breakthrough, the police headquarters has entrusted Kolhan DIG Anuranjan Kispotta with the responsibility of directly monitoring the case. In addition, the CID and the Special Branch have also been roped in to further strengthen the investigation.
All agencies are working in close coordination to trace the kidnappers and ensure the safe release of Kairav Gandhi.
Meanwhile, with several days having passed since the incident and no trace of Kairav Gandhi, his family remains in deep distress.
Their anxiety continues to mount with each passing day, as they repeatedly appeal to the administration to make every possible effort to bring him back safely.
The atmosphere at the family’s residence remains sombre, with hope and fear intertwined.
Police officials maintain that no angle is being overlooked and that the investigation is progressing in the right direction.
Alongside technical evidence, human intelligence networks have also been activated.
The police have expressed confidence that a major revelation in the case may come soon, as the entire city watches closely, hoping for Kairav Gandhi’s safe return.
