
UditVani, New Delhi : Jharkhand Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Tuesday at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) held at Bharat Mandapam.
Chief Secretary of Jharkhand, Avinash Kumar, inaugurated the state’s special day by offering floral tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda and lighting the ceremonial lamp.
During his visit, he reviewed all 32 stalls at the Jharkhand Pavilion and appreciated the products displayed by artisans, entrepreneurs and self-help groups.
He said that Jharkhand is showcasing its multidimensional development journey at this international platform.
“Our aim is to establish Jharkhand as a capable, prosperous and future-oriented state. The government is committed to giving equal priority to culture, tradition and development. We are rapidly enhancing modern infrastructure in key sectors such as education, health, roads, sports, drinking water, technology and air connectivity,” he added.

Cultural Heritage Takes Centre Stage
The cultural evening at Natyashala Theatre mesmerized the audience with traditional folk dance and music. Performances celebrating Jharkhand’s rich heritage highlighted the state’s vibrant cultural diversity.
At the Pragati Maidan amphitheatre, audiences enjoyed a colourful showcase of Jharkhand’s folk traditions.
The captivating presentations included Chhau by Tapan Nayak and team, Nagpuri by Kishore Nayak and team, Mundari dance by Sukhram Pahan and team, Oraon dance by Krishna Bhagat and team, and Paika dance by Ashok Kachhap and team.
Pavilion Showcases Creativity and Craftsmanship
This year’s Jharkhand Pavilion stood out with a unique blend of diversity and innovation. Institutional stalls such as Jharkhand Khadi & Village Industries Board, Jharkraft, Palash Mart, Chief Minister’s Micro & Cottage Enterprise Development Board, Fisheries Directorate, and exhibits featuring Paitkar and Sohrai painting attracted significant attention.
Local artisans and entrepreneurs, including those from Chotanagpur Craft, Mati Kala Board, Armaan Carpet, Kariyatpur Brass, MVM Bhaghima (Johar Ragi), Peepal Tree, and individual creators like Makbool Jadopeitai, Geeta Verma, Sandhya Singh Kuntia, Anita Mandal, Anupa Kujur, and several handloom artists showcased handmade products that drew special admiration from visitors.
The celebration of Jharkhand Day at IITF 2025 provided a dynamic display of the state’s cultural heritage, artistic excellence and development-focused governance. The pavilion once again emerged as a vibrant blend of innovation, tradition and progress.
Industry Secretary Arwa Rajkamal, Industries Director Vishal Sagar, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
