
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand woke up to a colder-than-usual morning on Tuesday, with several districts recording sharp drops in both maximum and minimum temperatures, as per the Realised Weather Report issued from IMD’s Ranchi centre today.
Jamshedpur witnessed the most significant decline, with the maximum temperature falling by 8.1°C to settle at 20.3°C, making it one of the coldest major cities in the state.
Chaibasa also recorded a dramatic dip of 10°C compared to the previous day, reflecting a deepening cold wave.
Ranchi registered a maximum of 22.8°C, staying 3.3°C below normal, while Daltonganj remained relatively warm at 27°C, only slightly below seasonal averages.
Automated weather stations showed Godda experiencing the highest maximum temperature at 27.3°C.
The coldest minimum was reported at Khunti , where the mercury dropped to 9.4°C.
Rainfall activity stayed negligible across Jharkhand, with only light traces reported in pockets such as Arki (Khunti), Bano (Simdega), Jamshedpur, and Maithon DVC.
Meanwhile, Jamshedpur recorded the lowest visibility at 800 meters early in the morning, hinting at misty conditions.
With winter tightening its hold, the state is likely to witness further dips in temperature in the coming days.
