
UditVani, Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur is set to become a major centre of astrological scholarship as it hosts the 32nd Asian Astrologers’ Conference from January 30 to February 1 at The Kennelite Hotel in Sakchi.
The three-day event is being organised by the Centre of Astrological Study and Research for Public Welfare (CASAR) under the aegis of Jyotish Sikshan Sansthan, a reputed institution registered with the governments of Bihar and Jharkhand.
The conference, described by organisers as “the only academic conference of its kind in India”, is expected to witness the participation of eminent astrologers, researchers and scholars from across India and several Asian countries.
The event aims to promote scientific discussion, research-based learning and public welfare through astrology.
Former Bihar Minister for Art and Culture, Alok Ranjan of Saharsa, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.
His presence is expected to lend cultural and academic significance to the gathering.
The organising structure includes a strong executive and state-level committee comprising well-known names from the field. Prof. S. Kr. Shastri, Founder and Vice-Chancellor, heads the institution, while Prof. J. V. Murlikrishna serves as Director.
The executive committee also includes Ar. Dr. Tapan Roy (Chairman), Prof. Avijit Chakraborty (President), Reader Ar. Ujjal Roy (Vice President – Academy), Ar. Bijay Chakraborty (Vice President – Programme), Ar. Dr. Suresh Jha (Vice President – Administration) and Ar. Dr. Rajesh Bharti (General Secretary).
State committees from Jharkhand, West Bengal, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, along with international coordinators from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Canada and Bangladesh, are actively involved in the conference preparations.
Organisers said the conference will focus on academic sessions, research presentations and discussions aimed at strengthening astrology as a discipline connected with public welfare and cultural heritage.
