UditVani, Jamshedpur : In a decisive and meticulously coordinated operation, Jamshedpur Police have dismantled an inter-state criminal syndicate involved in a high-profile robbery and kidnapping case linked to a resident of the CH Area in Bistupur.
The victim, Kairav Gandhi, was abducted earlier this month and rescued safely after nearly two weeks in captivity.
The latest breakthrough came with the arrest of Amarinder Singh alias Kartar Singh, a key associate of the alleged mastermind, from Ludhiana, Punjab.
Other accused taken into custody include Manpreet Singh (Ludhiana, Punjab), Rajkaran Yadav (Sheikhpura, Bihar), Gurdit Sher Singh (Ludhiana, Punjab), and Santosh Kumar alias Santosh Villen (Sheikhpura, Bihar).
Police said Gandhi was kidnapped on January 13 from Kadma Sona Road.
After 13 days, he was rescued unharmed on the intervening night of January 26–27.
Earlier, investigators had arrested Guddu Singh, Upendra Singh, Arjun Singh alias Aryan, Mohammad Imran Alam alias Aamir, Ramiz Raja, and Mohan Kumar Prasad in connection with the case.
Investigations revealed that one of the conspirators had been living in Jamshedpur along with Amarinder Singh and had conducted extensive surveillance on the victim’s daily movements. Amarinder allegedly rented accommodation in a slum locality to chalk out the crime plan. Subsequently, associates including Guddu, Imran, Manpreet, and Gurjeet Singh arrived in the city to assist in reconnaissance and execution.
In a calculated attempt to avoid exposure, the accused reportedly concealed their identities from one another.
Manpreet is said to have acted as the driver, while Amarinder, Guddu, Imran, Ramiz, and others reached the spot wearing police uniforms to carry out the abduction.
The victim was first shifted near Chandil Golchakkar, later transported through Ranchi, and ultimately confined in Bisar village of Gaya district.
After the crime, the accused dispersed across Punjab, Delhi, Kolkata, and Bihar to evade arrest. A special police team conducted coordinated raids across multiple states, leading to the arrest of all identified gang members.
Efforts are now underway to apprehend the alleged mastermind, who remains absconding, as police continue to tighten the noose around the broader conspiracy.
