
Udit Vani, Jamshedpur : Nishar Hasan alias Nishu, a dreaded criminal from South Park, Bistupur and the prime accused in the sensational Pawan Yadav murder case in Mango, has finally been arrested.
Acting on a Lookout Circular, immigration officials nabbed him at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport as he returned from Bahrain. His arrest was officially confirmed by Jamshedpur SSP Piyush Pandey in a special press briefing .
According to police sources, Nishar fled to Bahrain soon after the murder and remained in hiding. However, with intelligence inputs and coordination with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, a Lookout Circular was issued. As soon as he landed in Delhi, he was intercepted and taken into custody.
Murder That Shocked the City
On August 27, 2023, Pawan Yadav was shot dead in broad daylight near Swarnarekha river, Gurudwara Road in Gwala Basti, Mango. The case was lodged on the complaint of his brother, Mantosh Yadav. While nine people were arrested in connection with the case, Nishar, believed to be the main conspirator, remained at large.
First Arrest via Lookout Circular in Jamshedpur Police History
Nishar’s arrest marks the first time a fugitive criminal has been apprehended under a Lookout Circular in the history of Jamshedpur Police. His return to India triggered immediate action by immigration and police authorities, resulting in his arrest right at the airport.
A Key Member of the Infamous Amarnath Gang
SSP Piyush Pandey revealed that Nishar was not only involved in murder but was also active in extortion, illegal land dealings, bombings, and criminal intimidation. He was a core member of the notorious Amarnath gang and had assumed operational control in recent years. His criminal activities spanned several areas, including Kadma, Mango, Sonari, Bistupur, and Bodam.
Continuing Criminal Activities from Bahrain
Even while in Bahrain, Nishar remained in constant touch with his gang through encrypted messenger apps. He reportedly masterminded the murder of Raja Singh of Baikunthnagar and an attack on Ashutosh Ojha alias Anshu in the Dimna Lake Road area.
Police Success through Tech Surveillance and Coordination
A special task force led by City DSP M. Bhojla Prasad Singh tracked Nishar through meticulous surveillance of call records, bank transactions, and social media activity. With support from the central government, a Lookout Notice was issued, leading to the arrest.
Rs 50,000 Rewardee, Now in Judicial Custody
The Jharkhand government had announced a cash reward of ₹50,000 for information leading to Nishar’s arrest. Following his capture, he has been remanded to judicial custody. The SSP stated that more arrests may follow based on Nishar’s interrogation.
Cracking Down on Organised Crime
Police are now investigating Nishar’s criminal network, financing, arms supply routes, and property investments. His arrest is seen as a significant breakthrough in the city’s fight against organized crime.

“Nishar Hasan’s arrest is a big achievement. It sends a strong message that no criminal, no matter how powerful or elusive, can escape the law.”

The arrest has sparked hope and relief among Jamshedpur’s citizens, while sending a strong warning to other criminal syndicates. Police have indicated that a focused crackdown on the Amarnath gang will be launched soon to dismantle its remaining networks and restore peace.
