UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jamshedpur FC’s Under-18 side announced their arrival in emphatic fashion at the Reliance Foundation Youth Development League Regional Qualifiers, demolishing Chhattisgarh United FC 20–0 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Wednesday.
In a breathtaking display of attacking football, the Young Men of Steel overwhelmed their opponents from the first whistle, with seven players getting on the scoresheet in a contest that was virtually decided well before half-time.
Heeranganba Seram was the standout performer, firing in six goals, while Rayan C plundered five as Jamshedpur ran riot.
The onslaught began early, with Seram opening the scoring in the second minute from a Soumik Das cross.
Sustained pressure soon forced an own goal, before Rayan produced a moment of finesse—latching onto a Rashithoi Meetei through ball and deftly lifting it over the advancing goalkeeper. From there, the floodgates opened.
Seram struck again from a Sachin Singh delivery, Lawmsangzuala—popularly known as Mama—finished off a slick move involving Seram, and further goals from Rayan and Sachin Singh pushed the scoreline rapidly out of reach.
Chhattisgarh’s woes deepened in the 38th minute when their substitute goalkeeper was shown a straight red card, compounding an already torrid afternoon.
By the time the referee called for half-time, Jamshedpur had surged into a commanding 13–0 lead, with additional goals from Seram, Rayan, Satyajit Das and Lawmsangzuala underlining their complete dominance.
The second half offered little respite. Even with squad rotation, Jamshedpur maintained their relentless tempo.
Substitutes Alvin Eshaan Khyriem and Krishna Tudu found the net, while Seram completed his six-goal haul and Rayan added two more to cap a five-goal performance.
In the day’s other fixtures, Bidhannagar Municipal Sports Academy defeated Sports Odisha 3–1, while Zinc Football Academy and Football 4 Change Academy played out a 2–2 draw.
Jamshedpur FC will next face Bidhannagar Municipal Sports Academy on January 2 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
