UditVani,Jamshedpur : Unidentified miscreants pelted stones at the Howrah–Titilagarh Ispat Express (Train No. 22862) between Adityapur and Tatanagar on Friday evening, triggering panic among passengers.
The incident took place around 6 pm under Chakradharpur Railway Division.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and the train arrived at Tatanagar station on time.
Witnesses said the stone-pelting began shortly after the train left Adityapur. Several windows were damaged, forcing passengers to change seats to avoid injury. Travelers later said such incidents create a constant sense of fear during journeys.
Alerted by the incident, Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) teams rushed to the spot and stepped up patrolling in the area. Officials assured that the culprits will be identified soon and strict action taken, along with additional safety measures for passengers.
Passengers have also demanded tighter security in sensitive stretches to prevent a repeat of such incidents.
While no loss of life or property occurred this time, the attack has once again highlighted gaps in railway safety.
