
UditVani, Jamshedpur: International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Telco Church, bringing together hundreds of women in a vibrant expression of faith, unity and gratitude.
The event was organised by the Deanery Catholic Women’s Association under the Jamshedpur Roman Catholic Diocese.
Around 800 women from various parishes of the diocese participated in the celebration, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
Participants came from twelve parishes including Mango, Sonari, Bistupur, Golmuri, Parsudih, Rahargora, Sini, Chandil, Jadugoda, Musabani and Mahubhandar.
The large gathering reflected the strong presence and active role of women in the life of the Church.
The programme began with the Holy Mass, solemnly celebrated by Bishop Telesphore Bilung of the Jamshedpur Roman Catholic Diocese.
In his message, the Bishop appreciated the significant role women play in strengthening families, parishes and society.
He encouraged them to continue serving the Church with dedication, commitment and faith.
Following the Mass, a special programme was organised. Fr. David Vincent from Bhilai Pahari addressed the gathering as the keynote speaker.
In his address, he highlighted the vital role women play in building a faith-filled and empowered community.
He urged them to remain united, confident and committed to their responsibilities towards the Church and society.
On the occasion, Madhuri Minj, President of the Deanery Catholic Women’s Association, and Bibiana Kujur, President of the Diocesan Catholic Women’s Association, also addressed the gathering.
They encouraged women to work together in unity and dedication to strengthen the Catholic Women’s Association and further the mission of service within the Church.
The celebration also featured colourful cultural performances including songs and dances presented by women from different parishes.
These performances showcased their rich cultural traditions and talents, adding joy and enthusiasm to the event.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Bishop, priests, organisers, leaders and all participating women.
The Women’s Day celebration at Telco Church proved to be truly inspiring, strengthening the bonds of faith, unity and fellowship among the women of the diocese.
