Jamshedpur : XLRI Jamshedpur marked the beginning of a new academic chapter with the inauguration of its prestigious 18-month PGDM (General Management) and PGDM (HRM) for Emerging CHROs (Batch-4) programs.
The event was held at the iconic Tata Auditorium, blending tradition with a forward-looking spirit.
The ceremony began with a soulful prayer service and the symbolic Lighting of the Lamp, evoking a sense of reflection and hope for the journey ahead.
The institute welcomed 150 experienced professionals into its distinguished programs:
PGDM (GM) Batch 2025–26: 120 students (48 women, 72 men)
PGDM (HRM) for Emerging CHROs Batch-4: 30 students (12 women, 18 men)
These programs aim to shape ethical, future-ready leaders capable of navigating the complexities of the modern business landscape.
In his inaugural address, Fr. S. George, S.J., Director of XLRI, inspired students to embrace “wholehearted living,” emphasizing values like empathy, courage, and interconnectedness. He remarked, “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the strength to move forward despite it.”
Dr. Sanjay Patro, Dean (Academics), invoked XLRI’s guiding principle, MAGIS — the constant striving for excellence with a purpose — encouraging students to pursue their learning with curiosity, humility, and a strong ethical foundation.
A unique interfaith prayer, led by Fr. Donald D’Silva, S.J., Dean of Administration & Finance, featured verses from the Bhagavad Gita, Bible, Guru Granth Sahib, and Quran — reflecting the institute’s commitment to inclusivity and shared values.
Esteemed faculty members, including Prof. Purna Chandra Padhan, Prof. Manoj Thomas, and Prof. R. K. Premarajan, graced the occasion, extending their support and wisdom to the incoming cohorts.
Students took an honor pledge, reaffirming their dedication to integrity, diversity, and responsible leadership.
The event concluded with a stirring video presentation, the national anthem, and a high tea reception — officially kickstarting a transformative journey for these future business leaders.
Celebrating 76 years as India’s first business school, XLRI continues to shape visionary leaders who serve the greater good.
