
UditVani, Jamshedpur: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre Ranchi, has reported dry weather conditions across Jharkhand, with temperatures rising above normal in several parts of the state.
The highest maximum temperature during the past 24 hours was recorded at 36.0°C in Seraikela AWS, while the lowest minimum temperature stood at 12.4°C in Hazaribagh AWS.
No rainfall was recorded anywhere in the state during this period.
Among major observatories, Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 30.8°C and a minimum of 18.7°C.
Jamshedpur registered a maximum of 34.8°C and a minimum of 21.4°C, and also reported the lowest visibility in the state at 2,500 metres.
Daltonganj recorded a high of 35.4°C and a low of 16.2°C, while Bokaro Thermal reported 34.1°C as the maximum and 18.1°C as the minimum.
Chaibasa recorded a maximum of 33.8°C and a minimum of 19.2°C.
Data from various Automated Weather Stations showed Seraikela at 35.6°C (maximum) and 19.2°C (minimum), Baharagora at 34.5°C and 21.4°C, Pakur at 33.6°C and 19.7°C, Hazaribagh at 31.5°C and 14.2°C, and Koderma at 32.6°C and 17.5°C.
The IMD further stated that the upper air cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam and adjoining areas has shifted to central Assam at about 1.5 Km above mean sea level.
A trough in the westerlies with its axis at 3.1 Km above mean sea level, roughly along Longitude 94°E to the north of Latitude 23°N, continues to persist.
However, despite these upper air features, dry weather prevailed across Jharkhand, with a gradual rise in daytime temperatures indicating the onset of pre-summer heat conditions in the state.
