UditVani, Jamshedpur : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall at isolated locations in Jharkhand on Wednesday, October 9, followed by dry and clear weather from October 10 onward.
The state is expected to experience a partly cloudy sky between October 10 and 11, and mainly clear conditions from October 12, signaling a steady transition toward post-monsoon weather.
According to the IMD, the current rainfall activity is associated with a Western Disturbance forming an induced low-pressure area over east Haryana and its adjoining regions, extending up to 4.5 km above mean sea level.
A trough aloft runs roughly along longitude 77°E north of latitude 28°N at 5.8 km above mean sea level.
This system is expected to lose intensity gradually, leading to stable atmospheric conditions across most parts of eastern India, including Jharkhand.
In addition, a cyclonic circulation persists over south Bangladesh and nearby regions, extending up to 0.9 Km above mean sea level.
Though this circulation has a limited impact on Jharkhand, some light, short-duration rainfall may occur in the Santhal Pargana region and adjoining areas.
Meteorologists reported that monsoon activity remains weak over the state. With the southwest monsoon now in its withdrawal phase, significant rainfall events are unlikely in the coming days.
The drop in humidity and clear skies will pave the way for cooler mornings and evenings, marking the seasonal shift toward early winter.
Agriculture experts have advised farmers to utilize the upcoming dry spell for harvesting and post-monsoon field preparation.
The weather is also expected to be favourable for festive celebrations across the state.
Summary
* Light rain possible today (Oct 9) in select districts.
* Mostly dry and partly cloudy weather on Oct 10–11.
* Clear skies and pleasant weather expected from Oct 12 onward.
* Monsoon activity weak; likely to withdraw soon.
