
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Renowned social worker and retired Tata Steel employee Dr Avadhesh Kumar Pathak (78), a resident of Kadma, passed away at around 6 a.m. today at Tata Main Hospital (TMH).
He had been unwell for the past month and was undergoing treatment at TMH.
Dr. Pathak held a BSc (Hons) and MSc degree and later pursued studies in cost accountancy.
He served as a permanent employee in Tata Steel’s Chemical Laboratory before retiring.
Even after retirement, he remained actively involved in social service and played key roles in several organizations, including Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Jammu & Kashmir Study Centre, and the Swadeshi Mela organized annually at Gopal Maidan.
He was the founder General Secretary of the Tisco Ex-Employees Association and also established the Parshuram Parivar organization in Jamshedpur around six years ago, where he was known as a capable organizer.
Dr. Pathak is survived by two sons, two daughters, their families, and a large circle of well-wishers.
His funeral procession will begin from his residence at Kadma Bhatia Basti on Thursday, February 5, at 12 noon, and proceed to Parvati Ghat.
Advocate Ravindra Nath Chaubey, President of the Jharkhand Senior Citizens Welfare Association and Tata Steel Ex-Employees Association, termed Dr. Pathak’s demise an irreparable loss to Jamshedpur and paid heartfelt tributes to his memory.
