
Udit Vani Jamshedpur : A comprehensive review meeting of the health department was held on Wednesday at the collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi.
The meeting focused on assessing the status of key health schemes, medical infrastructure, and healthcare delivery in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare remains the top priority of the district administration.
Healthcare Must Reach the Last Beneficiary: DC
Addressing department officials, DC Satyarthi directed that all health schemes must be implemented in a way that ensures timely benefits reach the last person in the queue. He stressed the importance of departmental coordination and time-bound execution at the grassroots level to make health schemes truly effective.
Special Focus on Maternal and Child Health
The meeting saw a detailed review of programs related to maternal and child health, institutional deliveries, immunization, malnutrition treatment, and neonatal care. Each panchayat has been directed to tag at least two Mamta vehicles to ensure emergency transport services. Additionally, all discharge sheets must mention maternity benefit schemes clearly.
Review of Digital Health Services and E-Hospital System
Reviewing the progress of the E-Hospital system, the DC emphasized its proper use to maintain transparency and ease of service for patients. Discussions were also held regarding hospital rankings and reporting mechanisms under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS).
Discussion on Disease Control Programs
Programs targeting diseases like tuberculosis, leprosy, dengue, and non-communicable diseases were also reviewed. The DC instructed that pre-monsoon cleanliness drives, fogging, and awareness campaigns be intensified to control dengue. Regular monitoring of TB and leprosy patients was also emphasized.
Focus on Family Planning and Population Stabilization
The meeting also evaluated the availability and accessibility of family planning services. The DC instructed officials to strengthen follow-up mechanisms to ensure the effectiveness of population stabilization programs.
Mental Health and NCD Initiatives
Mental health programs were discussed, with a focus on timely identification, treatment, and counseling for mental illnesses. Screening and treatment for diabetes and hypertension will be strengthened at Primary and Community Health Centers.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal, SCMO Dr. Jogeshwar Prasad, DRCHO Dr. Ranjit Panda, Dr. A. Mitra, Dr. Mrityunjay Dhawadia, along with all MOICs and other health department staff, were present at the meeting.
