
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Collectorate auditorium to assess revenue collection, land acquisition, certificate cases, public grievances and encroachment on Tata Lease land, directing all departments to achieve 100 per cent of their annual revenue targets within the current financial year.
During the meeting, department-wise progress was examined and officials lagging behind were instructed to prepare concrete action plans to meet targets.
The State Tax Department was asked to enhance revenue through proper registration of restaurant and bar licences.
The Mining Department was directed to expedite the auction of seized minerals and strengthen monitoring and penalty recovery.
The Excise Department was told to increase revenue from licensed outlets and crack down on illicit liquor trade.
The Electricity Department was instructed to ensure monthly meter readings, streamline billing and resolve consumer grievances to improve recovery of outstanding dues.
The Transport Department was asked to intensify permit checks and take action against overloaded vehicles, while the Fisheries Department was directed to settle ponds and coordinate with the Soil Conservation Department for renovation of old water bodies to augment revenue.
Reviewing certificate cases, the DC ordered issuance of notices in pending matters and, if necessary, initiation of attachment, warrants and auction proceedings to recover dues.
Officials were asked to coordinate with banks for settlement reports and increase the number of hearings to ensure speedy disposal.
On land matters, emphasis was laid on timely disposal of applications related to sale deeds, mutation, land demarcation and correction of land records.
Officials were advised to hold meetings with deed writers to reduce rejection rates and ensure regular presence of revenue staff at circle offices.
The meeting also reviewed compensation payment in ongoing national and state highway projects, utility shifting, forest clearance and field verification processes.
Strict action was ordered against encroachments on roads, squares and market areas, particularly on Tata Lease land, in compliance with High Court directives.
Senior district officials, including the Additional Deputy Commissioner, SDMs, District Transport Officer, Land Acquisition Officer and representatives of NHAI, Tata Steel and Railways, were present at the meeting.
