UditVani, Jamshedpur: Train services across key routes of the Chakradharpur Railway Division have been temporarily suspended after intensified elephant movement was reported in forest stretches along the railway tracks.
The Railways have taken this precautionary step to avert any untoward incidents and to ensure the safety of passengers as well as wildlife.
Railway officials stated that several MEMU and passenger trains operate through dense forest corridors where elephant activity has increased over the past few days.
Considering the heightened risk of animal intrusion on tracks, operations of select trains have been put on hold as a preventive safety measure.
The suspended services will remain cancelled from January 7 to January 9.
Railway authorities have emphasized that passenger safety remains their foremost priority and that the decision has been taken strictly in the interest of public safety.
