
UditVani, Jamshedpur: A crucial meeting of the Central Ramnavami Akhara Committee, Jamshedpur, was held on Sunday at the Utkal Association Auditorium in Sakchi to review preparations and ensure the successful organisation of the upcoming Ramnavami Mahotsav.
The meeting, chaired by committee president Ashutosh Singh, witnessed participation from representatives of 163 licensed and 12 non-licensed Akhara committees.
During the meeting, it was unanimously resolved that the Ramnavami Mahotsav will be celebrated with grandeur, dignity and in accordance with the rich traditions of Sanatan culture.
Various Akhara committees across the city will take out magnificent processions showcasing the vibrant heritage of the Sanatan tradition.
All Akhara committees were asked to conduct meetings within their respective localities and prepare detailed plans to ensure that the processions are organised peacefully and in a disciplined manner.
It was also decided that the traditional Akhara processions along with the immersion will take place on March 28, 2026.
With the cooperation of the administration, committees will actively contribute to maintaining security, discipline and smooth arrangements during the festival.
The meeting concluded with chants of “Jai Shri Ram”, reaffirming the collective commitment to conduct the festival with decorum, grandeur and punctuality, making the Ramnavami celebrations a living reflection of Sanatan cultural values.
Representatives of several Akhara committees raised concerns regarding preparations and requested administrative intervention to address them.
Gauri Shankar Singh highlighted the need for improved cleanliness in panchayat areas, while Babua Akhara requested reopening of the traditional gate at the earlier site for Navami-day worship.
Other committees, including Ganesh Akhara Sonari, Golmuri Cable Akhara Committee, Srinivas Sundernagar Akhara, Shri Shri Mahabali Bajrang Akhara Committee, Trimurti Chowk Kitadih Akhara, Tarun Singh Mango, Golmuri Krishna Temple Akhara, Ram Bajrang Akhara, Bageshwar Nath Akhara, Sonari CH Area Akhara and Veer Manch Akhara Sonari, also presented their issues and suggestions in detail.
Several committees emphasised the urgent need for cleaning and maintaining the rivers used during the immersion rituals.
The Central Ramnavami Akhara Committee assured that all concerns would be placed before senior administrative officials for timely resolution.
Addressing the gathering, chief patron Chandragupt Singh said Ramnavami is a symbol of Sanatan culture, tradition and social unity.
He noted that Jamshedpur’s Ramnavami celebrations are widely recognised across Jharkhand for their grandeur, discipline and vibrant Akhara culture.
He urged all committees to work in coordination and maintain discipline to ensure the success of the festival.
Each Akhara committee should complete preparations in time and maintain close coordination with the administration to ensure peaceful and well-organised processions, he said.
Committee president Ashutosh Singh informed that continuous dialogue is being maintained with administrative officials to ensure smooth arrangements for the festival.
Suggestions received from Akhara committees will be implemented wherever necessary.
He also emphasised that women have always been the torchbearers of Sanatan culture and their participation will further enhance the dignity of the Ramnavami celebrations.
He appealed to all committees to encourage greater participation of women in their respective areas.
Patron Neeraj Singh highlighted that Ramnavami is a festival of faith, discipline and purity. He urged all Akhara committees to ensure that the processions remain completely free from intoxicants and are conducted in a dignified manner.
He also stressed that the sacred Ramnavami flag rope should only be carried by disciplined and devoted participants.
General secretary Bhupendra Singh assured representatives that office-bearers of the Central Ramnavami Akhara Committee will visit different localities to review preparations at the ground level.
They will interact with local committees to understand their concerns and suggestions and take necessary steps to resolve key issues.
The meeting was conducted by treasurer Shambhu Mukhi, while Pramod Tiwari delivered the vote of thanks.
On the occasion, representatives of various Akhara committees were welcomed with ceremonial angavastram.
