
UditVani, Jamshedpur: In a tragic road accident on National Highway-19, a passenger bus travelling from Jamshedpur to Varanasi was hit by a truck near Nasej Gumti under the Kudra police station area in Kaimur district on Sunday.
The powerful collision left three people dead on the spot and several others seriously injured.
The deceased have been identified as Deep Shikha Patel (9), Asha Rani (45), and an unidentified man believed to be around 55 years old.
According to officials, the bus was en route to Varanasi when the speeding truck rammed into it with considerable force.
The impact caused panic among passengers and resulted in multiple casualties.
Soon after the accident, teams from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the local police rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations.
The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Authorities stated that some of the injured remain in critical condition.
The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.
Police have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
