Jamshedpur: In a remarkable demonstration of community spirit and healthcare commitment, the Outreach Department of Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC) organized its sixth Blood Donation Camp on May 16, collecting over 200 units of blood from enthusiastic donors.
This year’s event marked a milestone as it welcomed participants from beyond the campus for the first time, including volunteers from the NCC Cadets and Tata Workers Union. Students, faculty, staff, and local residents came together to contribute to the lifesaving cause.
Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, Dr. Khyati Shukla Mittal commended the organizers and praised the dedication of the voluntary donors. Dr. Harish Chander Bandhu, Dean In-Charge, also addressed the gathering, stressing the critical role of regular blood donation in emergency care and chronic illness management.
This initiative placed special focus on meeting the needs of patients suffering from blood disorders like Hemophilia and Sickle Cell Anemia, who depend on frequent transfusions. The entire donation process was conducted under stringent medical supervision to ensure donor safety and hygiene.
Through such impactful outreach, Manipal Tata Medical College reaffirms its mission to enhance community well-being and promote a culture of health, empathy, and service.
