
UditVani, Jamshedpur: The 75th edition of the prestigious Steel City Golf Tournament was ceremonially inaugurated on Friday at the sprawling Golmuri Golf Course, marking a significant milestone in the region’s rich sporting legacy.
Former Union Minister, ex-Chief Minister of Jharkhand and an avid golfer, Arjun Munda, officially opened the tournament with a series of impressive shots that captivated fellow players and spectators alike.
Addressing the gathering, Munda lauded the organisers for successfully sustaining the tournament’s glorious legacy over the decades.
He praised the meticulous planning and organisational excellence that have made the Steel City Golf Tournament a benchmark in competitive golf.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by several eminent personalities, including Jamshedpur Golf Secretary and Tata Steel Chief–Safety Neeraj Kumar Sinha, JCAPCPL Managing Director Abhijeet Avinash Nanoti, Varun Bajaj, Tata Steel Chief–Corporate Services B. Chandrasekhar, and Ranveer Sinha, Chairperson of DBMS and Global President of the XLRI Alumni Committee.
The tournament is being played across the scenic 18-hole Beldih and Golmuri Golf Courses, with participation from over 250 golfers representing major cities such as Patna, Bhubaneswar, Paradip, Ranchi, Delhi and Jamshedpur.
Strong local participation has further intensified the competitive spirit of the event.
The grand finale and prize distribution ceremony will be held on Sunday, where Tata Steel CEO and Managing Director T. V. Narendran will felicitate the winners.
