UditVani, Jamshedpur: The 39th Jamshedpur Book Fair stepped into its sixth day today (November 19), drawing a vibrant weekday crowd as the city’s love for literature, ideas, and culture continued to take center stage at the Rabindra Bhavan grounds.
The fair, organised by The Tagore Society, has once again transformed the venue into a buzzing cultural hotspot where books meet conversations, creativity meets curiosity, and readers of all ages find their corner of joy.
With 67 stalls from leading national and regional publishers, the fair has been showcasing a wide spectrum of genres—ranging from contemporary fiction, classics, children’s literature, academic books, competitive exam material, spiritual texts to rare titles that often resurface only at such literary gatherings.

Publications from Kolkata, Delhi, Patna, Ranchi, and Jamshedpur have been among the major crowd-pullers, offering fresh arrivals as well as perennial favourites.
Children’s corners and activity-based stalls witnessed impressive footfall as school groups, parents, and young readers flocked in.
The organisers have planned a series of cultural evenings as well, with poetry readings, musical performances, and author interactions lined up until the concluding day.
Booksellers report that titles in Bengali, Hindi, and English continue to sell briskly, while self-help, competitive exam guides, and children’s literature dominate the demand.
Visitors say the fair offers not just books, but “the nostalgic charm of a cultural festival”—a space where people can slow down, browse leisurely, and rediscover the joy of reading in an increasingly digital world.
As the fair enters its sixth
day, organisers expect the weekend crowd to swell further, ensuring that this year’s edition remains one of the most memorable and well-attended in recent years.
