
UditVani,Jamshedpur: Tata Steel has been honoured with the prestigious RAHSTA Award 2025 in the category of “Most Innovative Material” for its flagship green product Tata Dureco (Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag – GGBS).
Tata Dureco, a CII-GreenPro certified sustainable material from Tata Steel’s Industrial By-Products Management Division (IBMD), has emerged as a game-changer in the construction industry. As a downstream product derived from blast furnace slag, it is driving the transition towards eco-friendly construction materials and has been extensively deployed in national infrastructure and marquee projects.
The award ceremony took place on September 4 at the Jio Convention Centre, Mumbai, where Team IBMD received the recognition on behalf of Tata Steel.
Widely used in the development of National Highways and infrastructure projects, Tata Dureco has contributed to iconic projects such as the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Temple, Ganga River Bridge in Patna, and the Baitarni Power Plant in Odisha. Its adoption reflects Tata Steel’s commitment to green construction and circular economy practices.
The jury also applauded Tata Steel for its pioneering role in large-scale waste and by-products management, positioning the company as a front-runner in sustainable industrial practices.
