UditVani, Jamshedpur: Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( JSERC ) today conducted a public hearing on Tata Steel’s power tariff petition for Jamshedpur area.
The public hearing took place at the Golmuri Club. The public hearing was held as a process for True-up for FY 2023-24, Annual Performance Review of FY 2024-25 and ARR for FY 2025-26.
The public hearing was chaired by Mahendra Prasad, Member Legal and Atul Kumar, Member Technical off Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
The public hearing was attended by several domestic, commercial and industrial consumers.
VP Singh Sr. GM Power Services , Tata Steel UISL, Ajay Kumar, Chief Power Management group, Tata Steel, Sharad Kumar, member Customer Grievance Redressal Forum attended the hearing along with other officials of Tata Steel and Tata Steel UISL.
Suman Mandal, Chief Divisional Manager (EP&C), presented the key points in the petition filed before the commission and the requirement of tariff adjustments to recover the costs.
It was presented that because of delay in appropriate tariff increase in the past there is a cumulative revenue gap of around Rs 612 cr at the end of FY2024.
Such gap is required to be liquidated within a reasonable time for which appropriate tariff increase is required.
Tata Steel has proposed tariff adjustment to recover the accumulated revenue gap.
On the proposed tariff overall revenue is expected to go up by approx. 12%, which will help recovering the cumulative revenue gap.
Subsequent, to presentation, member’s JSERC invited audience for suggestion, objections and any other issues related to the filed petition.
All suggestions were noted down by Tata Steel and were responded.
