UditVani Jamshedpur : A sense of camaraderie and bonhomie will prevail as Jamshedpur will witness a heartwarming reunion with 46 techies, who first met 46 years ago, will come together to relive cherished memories here.
It will be the reunion time for Tata Steel GT 79 Batch.
Braving the cold and forsaking New Year’s celebrations, they had gathered on the morning of January 1, 1979, a testament to their enduring camaraderie.
This remarkable batch was the largest ever recruited by Tata Steel. In a unique move by Tata Steel, all batchmates, including those with homes in Jamshedpur, were required to live and share everything together in the hostel.
The initiative fostered a camaraderie that remains “strong as steel” to this day.
Three days of nostalgia and celebration, the reunion, spanning from January 16-18, promises an unforgettable journey down memory lane.
With back-to-back gala dinners alongside their spouses at Beldih and United Club, the event offers a perfect blend of camaraderie and cherished memories.
Participants will revisit fondly remembered leisure spots and plant sites, reliving moments that defined their time with Tata Steel.
The gathering is marked by high enthusiasm and excitement, as former colleagues come together to share their journeys, laugh, and reminisce about their shared experiences.
As a heartfelt tribute to their colleagues who are no longer with them, special trees will be planted by the members at the SNTI Campus (now the People’s Development Centre) on the morning of January 18 , symbolizing love and remembrance that endures through time.
True to its legacy, Tata Steel, too, ensures that the bond with its former employees remains strong, fostering a sense of belonging and respect that transcends generations.
This reunion is more than a gathering—it is a celebration of bonds forged in steel.
