UditVani,Jamshedpur : A crucial meeting of the All India Convoy Workers Union was held on Sunday at the Cummins Yard, where union leaders informed drivers about a major welfare initiative being extended by Tata Motors.
Addressing the gathering, Union General Secretary Jai Narayan Singh announced that Tata Motors has decided to provide free accidental insurance coverage of Rs 15 lakh for drivers, keeping their safety and welfare in mind.
He clarified that drivers will not have to pay any fee to avail of this insurance benefit.
To facilitate the process, a special insurance camp will be organised on March 17 and 18 near the old RSO premises close to the South Gate of Tata Motors.
The camp will remain open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on both days.
Singh informed that registered drivers, in-charge drivers, purchase-sale drivers, and all other drivers associated with the convoy system can participate in the camp and get their insurance completed.
He urged all drivers to take advantage of the initiative and ensure their financial security. Drivers must bring Aadhaar card, heavy driving licence, and PAN card to complete the insurance formalities.
The union leader also cautioned drivers against misinformation, stating that some individuals might attempt to mislead them in the convoy area.
He appealed to drivers not to pay attention to rumours and instead make full use of the opportunity.
The union has requested all drivers to arrive on time and register for the Rs 15 lakh free accidental insurance, which aims to provide crucial protection for them and their families.
