
UditVani, Ranchi/Jamshedpur : Jharkhand Governor-cum-Chancellor of state universities Santosh Kumar Gangwar appointed vice-chancellors for three universities in the state, according to official notifications issued from Lok Bhavan on Tuesday.
The appointments were made under the provisions of the Jharkhand State Universities Act, 2000 and the Jharkhand State Open University Act, 2021, a day after the Governor held consultations with Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
Prof Rajiv Manohar to lead DSPMU
Prof Rajiv Manohar, currently a professor at the University of Lucknow, has been appointed the Vice-Chancellor of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University (DSPMU), Ranchi.
Prof Abhay Kumar Singh for Jharkhand State Open University
Prof Abhay Kumar Singh, who is serving as Professor and Dean at Nalanda University, has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Jharkhand State Open University, Ranchi.
Dr Ela Kumar appointed VC of Jamshedpur Women’s University
Dr Ela Kumar, a professor at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, Delhi, has been named the Vice-Chancellor of Jamshedpur Women’s University.
According to the notification, the three vice-chancellors will assume office from the date they take charge and will serve for a term not exceeding three years, at the pleasure of the Chancellor.
The appointments are subject to vigilance clearance from their respective parent institutions.
The orders were issued by Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor.
